PROTEST COLLECTIONS IN MUSEUMS: MAIDAN \\ MOVIMIENTO 15M [english]<\/p>\n
Lecture<\/strong> with Ihor Poshyvailo and Julia Ram\u00edrez Blanco<\/p>\n Independent archives specifically dedicated to archiving protest movements first emerged with the peace and environmental movements of the 1980s. Besides posters and banners, nowadays also shields, tents and parts of barricades find their way into the protest archives. Two collectors talk about the movement archives of the 2013\/14 Maidan protests in Kyiv and the 2011 Movimiento 15M in Madrid and how the protests found their way into the museum.<\/p>\n Ihor Poshyvailo is the director of the Maidan Museum in Kyiv, a collection of over 4,000 objects and documents resulting from the Maidan Protests. An interview with him was republished in the catalog Protest Architecture. Barricades, Camps, Spatial Tactics 1830\u20132023.<\/em><\/p>\n Julia Ram\u00edrez Blanco is a senior researcher at Madrid\u2019s Complutense University. During the Movimiento 15M protests, she was a member of the \u201cDocumentation and Archive Committee\u201d and dedicated a chapter in her 2018 publication Artistic Utopias of Revolt<\/em> to the occupation and its architecture (reprinted in part in the exhibition catalog).<\/p>\n \/<\/p>\n Unabh\u00e4ngige Archive, die sich speziell der Archivierung von Protestbewegungen widmen, entstanden erstmals mit den Friedens- und Umweltbewegungen der 1980er Jahre. Neben Plakaten und Bannern finden heute h\u00e4ufig auch Schutzschilde, Zelte und Teile von Barrikaden Eingang in die Protestarchive. Zwei Sammler*innen sprechen \u00fcber die Bewegungsarchive der Majdan-Proteste 2013\/14 in Kyjiw und der Movimiento 15M 2011 in Madrid und berichten, wie die Proteste ihren Weg ins Museum gefunden haben.<\/p>\n Ihor Poshyvailo ist Direktor des Majdan-Museums in Kyjiw, einer Sammlung von \u00fcber 4000 Objekten und Dokumenten, die w\u00e4hrend der Majdan-Proteste entstanden sind.
