The Hessenpark Open-Air Museum will be open from November 1\, 2022 to February 28\, 2023 only on Saturdays\, Sundays and holidays from 10 am to 5 pm. We ask you to take this into account. \nRURAL REGIONS AND THEIR ARCHITECTURE ARE PAID TOO SCANT ATTENTION. THAT IS SOMETHING THIS EXHIBITION AIMS TO CHANGE\, WITH A WEALTH OF CURRENT BUILDINGS DEMONSTRATING THE QUALITIES TO BE DISCOVEREDHERE AND SHOWING THAT ARCHITECTURE CAN CONTRIBUTE A GREAT DEAL TO GOOD LIVING IN THE COUNTRY. \n“The whole world is talking about the process of urbanization and that in future half of humanity will live in cities. I’m interested in the other half.” – Sami Rintala\, Finnish architect Rural areas are gaining more and more attention as places to live. They are places to live and work. They need a contemporary technical\, social and structural infrastructure. 70 outstanding buildings – from residential houses and barn conversions to farmsteads\, inns\, workshops\, wineries\, sports facilities and public buildings – show the diverse contributions architecture can make to a good life in rural areas. \nGeographically\, they are mainly concentrated in Germany\, Austria and Switzerland\, but are also located in neighbouring European countries. They are described by their inhabitants and builders or their architects. This results in a variety of approaches from the point of view of mayors and winegrowers\, a library director\, the head of a kindergarten\, an entrepreneur and many others. In addition\, we visited the Black Forest and Thuringia and the two towns of Krumbach in Austria and Valendas in Switzerland\, which have driven their overall development in a special way. The often different situations of the municipalities become clear. \nThe financing is also discussed – from private to public funds. Private individuals and entire municipalities are therefore addressed\, regardless of their budget. \nWe will also show new sustainable developments and the combination of the traditional and the contemporary. A lot of space is given to the conversion and renovation of buildings. We would like to draw attention to large and very small projects that may inspire further projects. It is an invitation to learn from the country. \nExhibition venueWith this exhibition\, Deutsches Architekturmuseum is guesting at the Hessenpark Open Air Museum in Neu-Anspach. As befits the theme\, the show will take place in a restored barn dating from 1742 and originally located in the Emstal Sand community. Following its stay in Neu-Anspach\, the exhibition will move on to numerous other venues. \nFundingThe project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. An exhibition of the DAM in cooperation with the Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark\, with the kind support of the Bundesstiftung Baukultur. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Virtual exhibition tour\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Eindrücke von der Ausstellung\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Foto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Publikation\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n SCHÖN HIER.ARCHITEKTUR AUF DEM LAND \nHrsg.: Annette Becker\, Stefanie Lampe\, Lessano Negussie\, Peter Cachola SchmalHatje Cantz\, BerlindeutschIntegralbindung (Flexcover)\, Format 22 x 28 cm336 Seiten mit 550 farbigen Abbildungen \nISBN 978-3-7757-5150-6 \nIm Museumsshop erhältlich für 29\,90 EUR\, \nim Buchhandel erhältlich für 40\,- EUR. \n \n Zur Bestellung

\nDie Frankfurter Paulskirche \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Weitere Ausstellungen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n PAULSKIRCHE. The Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) on Schaumainkai in Frankfurt am Main has been undergoing its own remodeling and renovation since October 2021. In the interim\, exhibitions and events will be held at DAM OSTEND\, within a former office complex on Danziger Platz\, next to the Ostbahnhof. The exhibition ADAPTIVE ARCHITECTURE – BUILDING UPON THE EXISTING  takes this opportunity to devote itself to a selection of contemporary international designs displaying the possibilities of versatile transformations and new uses of embodied architectural heritage. \nBy respecting the existing building stock\, architecture can make a much-needed contribution to sustainability – after all\, 40 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions are attributable to the building industry. Even though conversion and upgrading already account for two-thirds of construction work in Germany\, the architectural and ecological potential of retrofitting and repurposing is far from being exhausted. Demolition and new construction are often still the default answers when dealing with structures where design and space no longer appear to meet modern standards\, the current market situation or efficient and economical usage. The values\, resources and ‘grey energy’ embodied in buildings since their construction often go unnoticed. \nTransformative designs are as old as architecture itself. Although the culture of conversion has waned in recent decades\, climate crisis and dwindling raw materials underscore the urgency of its revival – not least because the building industry consumes more resources than any other sector of the economy. Other challenges such as pandemics or population growth are changing the classic images and profiles of urban as well as rural areas. Retail department stores are increasingly disappearing from city centers; multi-story car parks and other infrastructure buildings are becoming obsolete due to new\, sustainable mobility concepts – and even religious structures are affected by vacancies. At the same time\, social change offers the potential for new functions and design forms that can be respectfully integrated into existing buildings. \nExhibitionADAPTIVE ARCHITECTURE – BUILDING UPON THE EXISTING presents contemporary\, international examples of clever and creative strategies in dealing with existing architecture\, covering issues in six key areas. Experts provide insights into the many aspects influencing construction with existing stock\, in both urban and rural contexts. A survey of selected Frankfurt structures also opens up new perspectives and raises questions designed to engage users and residents\, and presents a comprehensive pool of utilizations\, transformations and revitalization concepts. \nEvents and ActivitiesThe exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive program of events and educational activities. Further information will be available soon at tempo.dam-online.de. \n \n \n \n \n \n Impressions of the exhibition\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully

SUMMARY:DAM on Tour in Budapest: ANTONIO DE CAMPOS - Konzepte für Zaha Hadid
DESCRIPTION:December 8\, 2022 – January\, 29\, 2023 \nBorn in Brazil in 1961\, artist Antonio de Campos is arguably only known to a few people – but this is not true of his famous client or the works he did for her between 2000 and 2016 – namely as artistic consultant for Zaha Hadid Architects. Until now\, the perception of the firm’s architectural images has focused on the charismatic founder. The exhibition in DAM shifts the perspective and spotlights how much Antonio de Campos contributed to the finished products. \nZaha Hadid became known in the 1980s for her architectural images. She combined layers of detail and different viewpoints\, axonometries and distortions in her depictions of the projects and the results were wondrously intricately charged and confusing architectural images. Alongside the buildings and design objects\, these images form a separate area of the architect’s oeuvre. \nHadid’s major breakthrough as an architect came as of the turn of the millennium with solo shows at the MAK in Vienna (2003) and the Guggenheim Museum in New York (2006). In recognition of her work she was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2004. Buildings from those years include the Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg\, Germany (2005); the Aquatics Center for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London\, England; the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku\, Azerbaijan (2014); and the Messner Mountain Museum in South Tyrol\, Italy (2015). \nEducated as an architect and filmmaker\, Antonio de Campos\, was involved in image production of Zaha Hadid’s office from 2000 onwards. In the 1990s\, rapid advancements in graphics programs and digital video animation opened up more and varied options for visualizing objects; as Creative Director of a video production company de Campos was very much part of that trend. \nThe computer accelerated and changed the ways in which complex buildings could be represented. Allowing the elements of architecture and film to merge became the new hallmark of Zaha Hadid’s architectural representations after the turn of the millenium. This where Antonio de Campos came in: as the artist consultant who created a significant number of the large-format images in the 2006 exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum\, for example.

SUMMARY:Ausgebucht: Legobaustelle Winter 2022/23
DESCRIPTION:Diese Veranstaltung ist bereits ausgebucht. Herzlichen Dank.

SUMMARY:Nichts Neues – Abriss stoppen! Kann ein Abriss-Moratorium das Juridicum retten?
DESCRIPTION:15. \nhttps://abrissmoratorium.de/

SUMMARY:DAM Preis 2023
DESCRIPTION:Die 26 besten Bauten in / aus Deutschland\n In 2023\, the award will for the seventh time be bestowed by Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) in close cooperation with JUNG as its partner – as part of a phased jury process. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ;\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n January 28  – May 1\, 2023\, DAM Ostend\nThe DAM Preis for Architecture in Germany 2023 has been awarded to AUER WEBER for the Extension of Starnberg District Office. The jury was very taken with Auer Weber’s extension to the Starnberg District Office. That said\, in the final analysis it was the harmonious interaction of the existing structure and the extension that is so convincing. After all\, rarely do an old structure and a new build bond so harmoniously\, not least here because despite 35 years lying between the two designs it was the same architects at work. Thus\, only a very close look today reveals where the old build ends and the extension begins\, what tried-and-true and highly rated attributes of the existing edifice have been continued and where things have been modernized in keeping with the time – infusing things with a new character. \nSince 2007\, the presentation for the DAM Preis has shown current architecture from Germany and remarkable projects by German architectural offices in other countries. In 2023\, the award will for the seventh time be bestowed by Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) in close cooperation with JUNG as its partner – as part of a phased jury process. \nA jury selected the 23 presented building ensembles in Germany and three examples abroad from a longlist of over 100 buildings realised between autumn 2020 and spring 2022 for the DAM Preis 2023. Five of the buildings were named finalists\, examined on a jury tour and one was finally declared the winning project\, which is the focus of the exhibition. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Videos about the Exhibition\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Eindrücke der Ausstellung im DAM\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Videos of the finalists\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ERWEITERUNG LANDRATSAMT STARNBERG \n AUER WEBERErweiterung Landratsamt StarnbergFoto / Photo: Aldo Amoretti \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ERWEITERUNG LANDRATSAMT STARNBERG\n AUER WEBERErweiterung Landratsamt StarnbergFoto / Photo : Aldo Amoretti \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ERWEITERUNG LANDRATSAMT STARNBERG\n AUER WEBERErweiterung Landratsamt StarnbergFoto / Photo: Aldo Amoretti \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ERWEITERUNG LANDRATSAMT STARNBERG\n AUER WEBERErweiterung Landratsamt StarnbergFoto / Photo: Aldo Amoretti \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ERWEITERUNG LANDRATSAMT STARNBERG\n AUER WEBER Erweiterung Landratsamt StarnbergFoto / Photo: Aldo Amoretti \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Finalists of the DAM Preis 2023\nallmannwappnerStadtbahntunnel\, Karlsruhe \nAuer Weber AssoziierteErweiterung Landratsamt Starnberg \nElement • A / hiendl_schineis Bundesgeschäftsstelle Deutscher Alpenverein\, München \nHütten & PalästeScheune Prädikow\, Umbau\, genossenschaftliches Wohn- und Gewerbehaus\, Prötzel \nLederer Ragnarsdóttir Oei LROVolkstheater München  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Acompanying Program\n \n \n \n \n \n Guided Tours with Yorck Försterimmer samstags und sonntags\, jeweils 15 Uhr \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Publications\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ARCHITEKTURFÜHRER DEUTSCHLAND 2023 \nYorck Förster\, Christina Gräwe\, Peter Cachola Schmal (Ed.)Published by DOM publishers\, Berlin / 2022 224 pages\, 135 × 245 mm\, 580 imagesSoft cover\, GermanISBN: 978-3-86922-814-3 \nAvailable at the museum shop and book stores for EUR 28 \n \n Zur Bestellung\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n DEUTSCHES ARCHITEKTUR JAHRBUCH 2023 \nYorck Förster\, Christina Gräwe\, Peter Cachola Schmal (Ed.)Published by DOM publishers\, Berlin / 2023 256 pages\, 220 × 280 mm\, 400 imagesLinen hard cover\, German/English ISBN: 978-3-86922-865-5 \nAvailable at the museum shop and book stores for EUR 38 \n \n Zur Bestellung\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Partners\n \n
