Prize money of EUR 10\,000 is attached to the first prize\, while other winners receive an award only. The results will be published in the book “Houses of the Year” and presented in the exhibition in DAM. As in previous years\, nowhere else in the world have so many high-rise buildings been built as in China. This enormous construction activity is also reflected in the list of nominees\, which includes ten projects in China. \nAlthough preliminary research by the Deutsches Architekturmuseum showed a slight decline in completions worldwide\, the typology of high-rise buildings is increasingly becoming established in all parts of the world. European cities are now pushing ahead with high-rise development\, and new towers are also being built successively in Africa\, as evidenced by the first nomination of a project on this continent\, or more specifically in Morocco. The exhibition presents all nominated buildings. \nThe winning project in the center of the exhibition and the finalists are documented in the show by means of models\, large-scale photos\, drawings\, texts and films. The winning building\, the ‘Norra Tornen’ twin towers project in Stockholm/Sweden designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in Rotterdam\, convinced the jury with their timeless yet pioneering architecture. \nThe combination of high-quality prefabricated concrete elements\, their skillful arrangement into individual loggias\, and the contrast with the fine details of the interiors are definitive features of this high-rise. Furthermore\, the appearance of the Norra Tornen makes an important contribution to a coherent urban fabric. The twin towers\, the jury said\, are also an expression of an equal society\, hence they convey not only a characteristic of Swedish culture\, but also a universal message. \nThe International Highrise Award is bestowed every other year by the City of Frankfurt\Main in cooperation with DAM and DekaBank. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Videos of the Award Ceremony and the Prize Winner\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Impressions of the Exhibition at DAM \n \n \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n International Highrise Award 2020Photo: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Publications\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Best Highrises 2020/21 \nThe International Highrise Award 2020Internationaler Hochhaus Preis 2020Peter Körner / Stefanie Lampe / Jonas Malzahn / Peter Cachola Schmal (ed.)published by JOVIS Verlag; Language d/en \nThe publication presents the award winner\, as well as all 31 nominated projects from 14 countries\, among others by Zaha Hadid\, OMA or Skidmore\, Owings & Merrill\, with photos and plans. SUMMARY:Ernst May Haus Frankfurt and Max Liebling Haus Tel Aviv – Exhibiting and Visiting an Architectural Monument
DESCRIPTION:Ernst May Haus Frankfurt and Max Liebling Haus Tel Aviv – Exhibiting and Visiting an Architectural Monument \nAt the third event of the series “Context\, Contrast\, Continuity – Heritage Conservation and Urban Development” exemplary houses of Modernism will be discussed with the Max Liebling Haus in Tel Aviv and the Ernst May Haus as the foci. \nThe Max Liebling Haus was built in 1936 by Max and Tony Liebling according to plans by the architect Dov Karmi. Since 2019 it houses the White City Center Tel Aviv. The Liebling Haus – The White City Center was co-founded by the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the German government at a historical and cultural crossroad in the heart of Tel Aviv. Its mission is to actively preserve the heritage of the White City site and the international style\, known in Israel as the Bauhaus. \nThe Ernst May Haus was built 1927/28 according to plans by Carl Hermann Rudloff and Ernst May as part of Frankfurt’s Römerstadt. It is an exemplary house for the extensive housing estates of the Neues Frankfurt. Since 2010\, after carefully restoring the small single-family terraced house to its original state of 1929\, it can be visited by the interested public. \nSharon Golan Yaron\, architect and programme director of the Max Liebling Haus will present her curatorial achievements for the White City Center Tel Aviv. The Head of the ernst-may-gesellschaft\, Prof. Dr. Klaus Klemp\, will introduce the Ernst May Haus and the programme developed by the Forum Neues Frankfurt. They will expose the radically different curatorial strategy behind the Ernst May Haus and the Max Liebling Haus. The different approaches to storytelling in historically protected monuments will be explored also in the subsequent discussion which will be opened by Natascha Drabbe\, Director and Founder of the Iconic Houses Network. \nThe online discussion event will be conducted in English. \nJanuary 14\, 2021 – Livestream – 7pm CET/8pm IDT \nJoin via youtube:\nyoutube.com/DeutschesArchitekturmuseumDAM \nJoin via facebook:\nfacebook.com/architekturmuseum \nDo you collect further education points?\nPlease join via Zoom:\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_l0DNJe3wQHy_ycd978XBow \n

SUMMARY:Ditital Exhibition Opening: Einfach Grün - Greening the City
DESCRIPTION:EINFACH GRÜN – Greening the City\nDIGITAL EXHIBITION OPENING \nJanuar 22\, 2021\, 6 p.m.\nLivestream:\nwww.facebook.com/architekturmuseum\nwww.youtube.com/c/DeutschesArchitekturmuseumDAM \nCan GREEN in architecture improve the climate in cities\, reduce heat generation\, lower the release of fine dust particles\, and increase people‘s well-being? It’s time to develop architecture with regard to green spaces\, to upgrade urban spaces\, and to consider GREEN not just in terms of ecological aspects. \nThe exhibition addresses the advantages and challenges of urban GREEN — especially the greening of houses and roofs in existing and new buildings. In addition to the science involved\, the exhibition also focuses on the technical opportunities and practical issues. Successful green buildings from Düsseldorf to Milan and Singapore will be on show alongside tried-and-tested systems and completely new developments. Even before the exhibition begins\, the DAM is calling for you to submit your own greening projects. The entries will be evaluated by a jury and the winners will be presented in the exhibition at DAM. For further information on the call for projects click einfach-gruen.jetzt \nThe exhibition is a cooperation with the research section of the international planning and consultancy firm Arup “Green Building Envelopes” and with the City of Frankfurt Dept. of the Environment. \nWelcome / Introduction: Peter Cachola Schmal\, Director Deutsches Architekturmuseum \nExplanation of the cooperation: Lara Maria Mohr / Peter Dommermuth\, Umweltamt der Stadt Frankfurt \nPresentation „Einfach Grün“: Rudi Scheuermann\, Director und Global Leader Building Envelope Design bei Arup. \nInterview: Stefano Boeri\, Architekt\, Architekturprofessor und Autor \nPresebtation Exhibition Contents: Hilde Strobl\, freie Kuratorin \nInterview: Mun Summ Wong / Richard Hassel\, WOHA \nVirtual tour through the exhibition: Film von Moritz Bernoully\, Fotograf

It’s time to develop architecture with regard to green spaces\, to upgrade urban spaces\, and to consider GREEN not just in terms of ecological aspects.The exhibition addresses the advantages and challenges of urban GREEN — especially the greening of houses and roofs in existing and new buildings. \nYou can find the accompanying programme to the exhibition EINFACH GRÜN here: Accompanying Programme Einfach Grün.  \n \n \n \n \n \n Impressions of the exhibition\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n Ausstellung Einfach GrünFoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Videos about the exhibition\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Accompanying program\n\n \n \n \n \n \n There are no upcoming Veranstaltungen.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Further exhibitions\n\n\n \n Event Category\n \n \n Architekturpreis\n Ausstellung\n Collection\n Erwachsene\n Exhibitions\n Kinder + Jugendliche + Familien\n Schule & Kita\n Veranstaltung\n Vermittlung\n \n \n \n Venues\n \n \n Unter der Friedensbrücke\n Schaumainkai (Höhe Eiserner Steg)\n Urbaneo Junges Architekturzentrum\n Markt der Möglichkeiten\n Begegnungsstätte RoSenhaus des Altenhilfe Treysa e.V.\n GHMP Knihovna\n Säulenhalle Landsberg\n DAM Archiv\n Universitätsbibliothek Johann Christian Senckenberg\n Wechselnde Orte\n Hellerhofsiedlung\n Kampnagel Internationale Kulturfabrik GmbH\n ILEK\n architekturforum allgäu\n Opernhaus Bonn\n DFF - SUMMARY:DAM Preis 2021
DESCRIPTION:The best 25 buildings in from Germany\n Since 2007\, the DAM Prize for Architecture has been awarded annually to outstanding buildings in Germany. In 2021\, the prize will be awarded by the German Architecture Museum (DAM) for the fifth time – in close cooperation with JUNG as a cooperation partner – in a staggered jury procedure.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ;\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n January 30 – June 27 2021\, 3. Fl\nThe DAM Preis for Architecture in Germany 2021 has been awarded to MVRDV and N-V-O NUYKEN VON OEFELE ARCHITETKEN for WERK 12 in Munich. \nWERK12 is located on the former Pfanni site near Munich’s Ostbahnhof station. For some years now\, the area has been developing into an experimental urban district. Circumferential wide balcony walkways and cascading staircases characterize the building on the outside; its fresh\, cheeky appearance is given by huge letters with onomatopoeia borrowed from comics on the facade. The open space in front of the building supports its appearance. It is no coincidence that the images of the Dutch Expo 2000 pavilion pop up in the mind’s eye: It animated the client to commission the building. Inside\, the five-story building offers a high degree of flexibility for a wide range of user requirements. Additional levels are created by retracted galleries in the high rooms. Open installations and exposed concrete characterize the interior. A fitness studio occupies three floors\, one of which has a pool. In addition\, there are various restaurant uses and office spaces. \nThe presentation for the DAM Preis 2021 shows current architecture from Germany and remarkable projects by German architectural firms in other countries. For the DAM Preis for Architecture in Germany\, the museum has nominated 100 remarkable buildings or ensembles. The nominated buildings for the DAM Preis 2021 had to be completed between the end of 2018 and the spring of 2020. The jury of experts nominated 22 projects for the shortlist of the DAM Preis 2020. From this shortlist\, four buildings were nominated as finalists for the DAM Prize 2021\, assessed on a jury tour and finally the winning project named. \nThe shortlist covers aspects of housing construction\, for example a modular building in Berlin that takes its cue from industrial examples\, und a building complex in Nuremberg that cites the predecessor building in its use of ornamental spolia. Childcare centers are likewise featured\, with two completely different solutions\, the one a refined wooden structure in Ditzingen\, the other the conversion of a somewhat unremarkable villa into an all the more refreshing childcare center in Memmingen. Just how varied can administrative buildings be? Indeed\, just how can strongly can they foster communication? The head office of drugstore chain dm located in Karlsruhe’s Durlach district\, which draws on anthroposophy for inspiration\, is exemplary in terms of constituting corporate architecture. Not least\, special builds that shape the face of the specific location are also shortlisted: They include the high-water protection structure and waterside promenade in Hamburg’s Niederhafen and the innovative wooden structure for the Urbach Tower in the beautiful Remstal surroundings\, for example. \nWith the publication of Architekturführer Deutschland 2021 (Architectural Guide Germany) the shortlist\, finalists and the prize winning project are presented in a handy printed version. Published by DOM publishers in Berlin\, the book is now available. \nThe exhibition is curated by Christina Gräwe und Yorck Förster. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Videos of the exhibition\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Impressions of the exhibition\n \n \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernolly \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernolly \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernoully \n \n \n \n \n DAM Preis 2021 ExhibitionPhoto: Moritz Bernolly \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Werk12\, Munich\, Germany\n ARGE MVRDV & N-V-O NUYKEN VON OEFELE ARCHITEKTENPhoto: Ossip van Duivenbode\, @Ossip \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Werk12\, Munich\, Germany\n MVRDV & N-V-O NUYKEN VON OEFELE ARCHITEKTENPhoto: Ossip van Duivenbode\, @Ossip \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Wohnregal\, Berlin\, Germany\n FAR FROHN & ROJASPhoto: David von Becker \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Integrated roof greenhouse and administration building\, Oberhausen \n KUEHN MALVEZZIPhoto: hiepler\, bruenier \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ernst Busch University for Dramatic Arts\, Berlin \n O&O BAUKUNSTPhoto: Schnepp Renou \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Nominated Projects for the DAM Preis 2021\nALLMANN SATTLER WAPPNER .
